“Fisnikët” are among the oldest Kosovan Pop bands. They were formed in Prishtina, Kosova, in the beginning of the ‘80s and they are still active.

In the ‘80s kind of revolution was happening in Kosovan Rock and Pop scene. The brilliant Rock bands like “Gjurmët”, “Ilirët” and “Minatori” introduced kosovan Rock which is a combination of local music and influence of American and British Pop & Rock of that time.

And we had also bands like “Fisnikët”, “Triksi” etc who were more oriented toward folk but not totally folk. They were the vanguard of the Kosova's Pop music at that time. Just as it seemed that they were paving the road for the future bands and styles, Kosova fell under the Serbian nationalist and military regime and all positive trends stopped, only to recover but not with the same strength after the liberation in 1999.
